I started studying landscape architecture in 2007 at Mesa College with hopes of transferring to NewSchool of Architecture & Design, but fell in love with trees after taking a tree identification course. In 2011, Shortly after meeting my wife, I started helping out with the family's small landscape and tree business.

In 2012, Angel, my father in law, became ill and I had to take over the operation of the business without any experience. I took a few business courses at Grossmont College, and researched tree work online. After a few years of physical therapy, Angel returned to climbing trees.

After overcoming multiple adversities within the family, I decided I wanted to expand my knowledge in the field of Arboriculture and enrolled in Cuyamaca College Ornamental Horticulture program in 2018, and currently working on 4 OH degrees; Arboriculture, Landscape Technology, Irrigation Technology and Sustainable Urban Landscapes.

After being pressured by multiple professors at Cuyamaca, I started preparing to become an ISA Certified Arborist. And in March of 2020, the day before Covid-19 shut down everything, I took my test and became a Certified Arborist.

San Diego Holistic Tree Care started after I felt like it was time to part ways with Angel's Tree Care, to focus more on the science and practice of Plant Health Care. I have expanded my knowledge of tree biology, tree care and pruning. I've become more focused on consulting and advising, joining multiple organizations around the county, volunteering at multiple events and community projects. I also work as a paid lab technician at Cuyamaca College for multiple arboriculture related courses.
